In what they described as political impotency and non-inclusiveness of major stakeholders in the system as typified in the leadership style of Governor Udom Emmanuel, the state Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Hon. Joseph Patrick Otu has advised the Akwa Ibom state Governor to make good use of his four years in office as APGA is set to occupy the Hilltop Mansion in 2019.
Mr. Otu gave the advice while fielding questions from journalists at Margret Ekpo International Airport Calabar, when he returned from his party conference in Abuja, recently.
According to him, Governor Udom Emmanuel has missed out in the area of political inclusiveness by not giving a sense of belonging to the major stakeholders in the state, saying that 2019 will teach the Governor some sort of lessons.
His word” the five cardinal programmes of Governor Udom have failed, specifically in the area of political inclusiveness. Political parties in the state have been abandoned despite the contributions of ensure peace and tranquility at the grassroots. He has not been able to create an enabling environment for business to thrive, no good education policy, no proper empowerments for the teaming youths, women and elders.”
Mr. Otu condemned in strong terms the recent visit to Ibom plaza and Akpan Andem market by Governor Emmanuel, which according to him had caused injuries amongst the youths and traders who struggled for the money thrown in air by the Governor.
He described it as unacceptable way of giving back what rightly belongs to the people, reiterating that Udom’s political career will die after his first term in office.
The Akwa Ibom APGA chairman assured that when APGA finally assume office in 2019, the state will experience real democracy and development.
