Akwa Ibom contributed whopping N10billion to Atiku’s campaign

Rumours are currently swirling around the politicial and financial space that Governor Udom Emmanuel contributed a whopping 10 billion naira to the failed Atiku campaign. As one of the few oil producing states, Akwa Ibom was asked by the PDP to contribute to Atiku so that he could win the election.

Governor Udom Emmanuel is said to have strongly believed that Atiku would win the election, claiming that this was revealed to him by a Pastor close to him. He heavily invested state funds, believing that these funds would be refunded once the president was elected.
and facing the prospects of an expensive election for state Governor against popular APC candidates, Governor Udom is said to be desperate, and looking towards international bodies to borrow dollars to be able to cover the budgetary hole in Government. It is said that the state government only has a couple of months of funds in savings, after which salary payments would stop.

Akwa Ibom is facing a cash crunch as the state coffers have been depleted in an attempt to win the election.
