Udom gives certificates of origin to Lagosians
...Oniong youths set for showdown with Udom, Awa clan
..
Youths of Awa clan have accused Governor Udom Emmanuel of bringing non-indigenes from Lagos, issuing them certificates of origin and giving them appointments as though they were from ONNA.
This is one of the reasons youths of Awa clan and those from other clans in ONNA are up against Udom Emmanuel and his lieutenants from the local government.
Also, there is a deep animosity and sharp division which have culminated in violence between Awa youths and three other clans in ONNA, Governor Udom Emmanuel's local government area.
Friday last week, village youth presidents from Awa clan reigned violence on one Mr. Nsikan Ben Udoh, village youth President of Ikot Edor.
Nsikan Ben Udoh was pushed out from a moving bus in Ikot Akpatek by a village youth president from Awa, Governor Udom Emmanuel's clan.
Mr. Udoh who is in his early 40s was found by our reporter dabbing blood from lacerated wounds on his head sustained in the incident.
"He also sustained multiple lacerated injuries on his elbow, the back of his palms, and toes. The yoke of his shirt was also torn as a result of the friction between his cloth and the coal tar", our reporter said.
Nsikan Ben Udoh was crying while narrating his ordeal with his fellow village youth presidents.
He said Edmund Uffang, Chief Protocol Officer to Governor Udom Emmanuel had told members of the forum to go with him to his house from a birthday ceremony at Ikot Akpatek.
"We came to grace the birthday of our former lawmaker in Ikot Akpatek. Edmund Uffang was a guest at the event. While he was leaving he told us to come to his house.
"We all entered the bus donated to the forum of village youth presidents by the governor. When the bus drove off, someone pushed me out. When I was pushed out, I could hear the coordinator of the forum, Ubong Akpan Ekefre scream that the driver should stop the car, but the driver sped off".
Udoh who is from Oniong clan said he never had any previous sour relationship with the coordinator of the group or any other member of the forum.
He however said Awa youths have shown tendencies of discrimination and violence against youths from other clans since Udom Emmanuel became governor.
A day after Nsikak Ben Udoh was pushed off the car, our reporter confirmed that no member of the forum who was in the bus called to find out what happened.
"I had called our coordinator to tell him the degree of injury I sustained from that incident, and requested to see him, he told me he will see me, but has not", Udoh told our reporter on phone.
Youths from Oniong clan who gathered and sympathised with Nsikak Ben Udoh during the incident had the same story, "that Awa youths have become very hostile since Udom became governor"
"Let the youths of Awa not forget that another election is coming", a youth at Ikot Akpatek said.
It would be recalled that Awa youths had attacked a bus belonging to the federated chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Governor Udom Emmanuel's hometown during a project inauguration to mark the governor's second year in office.
The youths also attacked a team of AKBC reporters on an official assignment in ONNA.
One of the reporters, Eyakeno told a colleague that "youths threatened to break their camera.
"They had said we should bring the camera for them to tell us what their problems were".
It would be recalled that on Monday 15th May, 2017 at least three people were hacked with axe over N1million donated to youths by Governor Udom Emmanuel during the flag-off of a road project in ONNA.
