LG Election: LP Nomination Forms Sold At 40k ...As Party Gives Preference To Women, Physically Challenged, Ors
The chairman Labour Party, Akwa Ibom state, Elder Utip Etiebet has announced sells of nomination forms to aspirants who are willing to contest in the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
In a release jointly signed by Chairman, Elder Etiebet and the Publicity secretary of the party, Comrade Kufre Peters, form for the position of a local government chairman goes for N100, 000 (Expression of Interest N30,000), while Councillorship positions is N40,000, (Expression of interest N20,000).
According to the release, women, physically challenged persons ( lunatics exclusive), and less privileged will get the nomination forms free of charge, as the party invites all aggrieved persons to grasp this unique opportunities.
The chairman warned all those who are involved in secret cult not to purchase the forms as the party will do thorough screening of aspirants before the nomination date.
However, the party has set up the following committees to handle the exercise: sales of nomination forms committee to be chaired by Iwatt Udofot; Senatorial Electoral Committees chaired by Mary Okpo- Uyo, Idongesit Edem Okon - Eket, Udofot Iwatt- Ikot Ekpene; Appeal Committee chaired by Archibong Bassey, and Screening Committee chaired by Elder Utip Etiebet.
The release called on all interested aspirants to visit the party office at 66 Uruan street, Uyo from Tuesday, September 12 2017 to pick their forms.
The release also invite aspirants who are people oriented and will be willing to serve, to approach the party as there will be no injustice in selecting the flag bearer.
