Governor Udom Emmanuel’s political survival ahead of 2019, is seriously under threat, as Stalwarts from the three Senatorial Districts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, were caught romancing with the All Progressive Congress, APC Top on the list is former Governor,Chief Godswill Akpabio. Our reporter said the deal to take over APC Structure in 2019 was sealed in a meeting in his residence at Ukana on Friday September 8, 2017. In attendance were PDP State Chairman, Mr Paul Ekpo, the Attorney General of the State, Barr Uwemedimo Nwoko, a Former Commissioner for information,Elder Aniekan Umana , Prince Enobong Uwah and others. our source disclosed that they vowed to place their stooges as Elected Chairmen of PDP in Etinan, Okobo, Uruan, Uyo, Urue Offong/Oruko, Ikot Ekpene, Ika, Essien Udim, Abak local government areas among others . So that in the event of their decamp into the APC, their stooges will follow suit taking along supporters. A former minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Chief Nduese Essien, had earlier made the observation that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State will suffer if the Senate Minority Leader and former governor of the State, Godswill Akpabio, defects to the All Progressives Congress, APC. The ex-Minister told Sun and Daily Post quoted in their 14/04/2017 online publication. He said, “... if the current minority leader in the National Assembly ever defects, it will be a strong capitulation for the PDP because he already had a base at the state level. If he defects, he will be going with that strong base..." That base is no other than the Party machinery headed by Mr Paul Ekpo that Akpabio constituted, former commissioners and serving commissioners who are still loyal to Akpabio. In Etinan for instance, Obong Paul Ekpo who is the state chairman of the PDP is not leaving any stone unturned to impose his younger brother , Surv. Cletus Ekpo to avoid any mistake, in Uyo ,we are reliably informed that Prince Enobong Uwa is particularly agrieved on how Governor Udom threw him unceremoniously out of the Executive Council. And is working tiredless to plant Elder Imo Okon as a PDP Chairman of Uyo who will do his bid in APC. Our investigation shows that the choice of Imo was arrived at since he is a member of Qua Iboe Church that Udom's belongs to, that it will be easier to convince the governor to adopt him. ‘We are wondering how he intend to carry out his plot as Enobong is well known for failing election in his ward and even at the polling unit on his street’. A very competent source further disclosed that the Offot Prince has been penned down for APC Deputy slot in 2019 Gubernortorial race or SSG by Godswill Akpabio’s cabal as they are pushing for an Oron man to clinch the party ticket for 2019 election .it could be recalled that senator Nelson Effiong when defected to APC had said that he was like the biblical John, the Baptist, clearing the way. In Abak the story is not different as Elder Aniekan Umamna has skimmed out the Deputy Governor, Mr.Moses Ekpo and brought out somebody who will do his bid.That of Urue Offong Oruko was much easier to execute as their stooge, Mr Umana Effomburu is a well-known APC Stalwart who delivered MR Asuquo Achibong aka Sharp Poison in the last House of Assembly elections. The first person said to have executed his own part of the bargain was the Attorney General who lobbied Abak high Court Judge to declare the Transition Commitee constituted by the governor illegal. The failed plot was to place stooges earlier enough to prepare grounds for them to take over APC structure in 2019 elections.
