2017 IPAC Election: A'Ibom Party Chairmen Fight Dirty... Set To Reject Imposition

Factional members of Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC led by the State Chairman of National Conscience Party (NCP) Mr. Godwin Umana have vowed to resist any form of imposition during the upcoming election of the body slated for Thursday, 21st September, 2017.

Our impeccable source who is also a member of the faction hinted this reporter that some State Chairmen of Political Parties during their several meetings have vowed that they would only support a Party Chairman who is independent to emerged as the next IPAC Chairman during the election, as it would not be business as usual.

The source who preferred anonymity accused the Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Affairs, Mr. Lawrence Udoide of conspiring with the State Chairman of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo whom he described as the Father of Inter-Party, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative Affairs and Water Resources, Rt. Hon Barr. Ekong Sampson to impose Engr Martins Inyang as the Chairman of the body for a second term.

He added that, he (Lawrence) and his cohort succeeded last year to installed their preferred choice in the person of Mr  Martins Inyang as Chairman, saying that the Party Chairmen would never accept such planned imposition again and that, they have mobilized effectively to ensure that their common choice of candidate successfully emerged as the next Chairman of the body during the said election.

However, Mr Umana who is said to be eyeing the position was quoted of being boasting that the party Chairmen should not border about who would sponsored his election as he has many sponsorships who are just standing by to ensure that he succeeds as the next chairman of IPAC in the state.

In his words “I’m the last man standing with the interest of Political Party’s Chairmen at heart. Eradication of poverty amongst Party Chairmen is a task that must be done collectively. Sincerely it's now or never; together we win it or loss it for ever, but let's jointly win it and keep it for good. Godwin Umana for Chairman IPAC "stand for the right even if you are standing alone" Gani Fawehemi”, he concluded.

Meanwhile, information gathered from a crave fine indicated that a good numbers of Political Party Chairmen have already taken unanimous decision and cued behind the aspiration of Mr. Umana, vowing to deliver him as the next chairman of the body during the election. "We don't want an IPAC Chairman that will always run to the SA Inter-Party Affairs to take instructions before embarking on anything"
