Mkpat Enin Lawmaker Lauds Super Eagles Win Over Indomitable Lions of Cameroon

The member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Otobong Ndem has commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their impressive  4:0 victory over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

The lawmaker, who gave the commendations Friday night while interacting with some sports enthusiasts, said that the victory has put to rest the insinuations that the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is jinxed, saying that the stadium remains the most preferred in the country.

He noted that considering the high spirit and celebration atmosphere which Akwa Ibom state is in ahead of her 30th anniversary, the players had the right motivation to cruise to victory, adding that only a very formidable team will regain the country's lost glory in football.

“We all saw a bit of the kind of Super Eagles we have always been looking for. The coach and his technical crew must now build a stronger team from what we have because there is still so much work to be done. We need a team that compete favourably with European teams and other good football countries.

“Nigeria has a good history in football and only a formidable team that will regain the country's lost glory in the sport. That was a good performance and the entire country is proud of the team. All that is needed now is more improvement”, the lawmaker said.

Hon. Ndem further commended the government of the state for ensuring that the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is still in good shape and is found befitting to host international matches, describing  Governor Udom Emmanuel as “very sports-loving”.
